I've been on a diet for three months, because my cholesterol was a bit high and the doctor gave me pills for those three months. I was supposed to go to him after I finished the pills so that I could have another blood test to see if the pills and the diet were working. So I was really looking forward to this day so that I could stop the diet and start eating some not ultra-healthy food from time to time. So I got there and the doctor told me that he's not doing any blood test yet and that I have to take the pills and keep the diet for another three months. I was starting to get sick of the diet lately, but I dealt with it because it had a deadline, but now I feel like screaming.
The worst part is that the cholesterol problem doesn't come from the food I eat, the doctor himself told me that. I'm pretty thin and I should be much fatter to have this kind of cholesterol, but instead of trying to find out what the real problem is, the guy puts me on a diet - and gives me pills that apparently (and he tells me this now, after three f***ing months taking them) can create kidney problems.

The countdown begins. Again.

Update: It just hit me. I'm going to be on the middle of the diet during Christmas. Somebody please kill me now.

* Last Friday I went to the movies with some friends to see 500 days of Summer. It was just the four of us and another guy a few rows down in the room. There was a moment in which the movie stopped playing and the screen went black, so a friend and me got up to go find someone to fix it. Big klutz that I am, I tripped on the stairs and of course I ended up falling on top of the only other person in the whole room *lol* We spent the rest of the movie laughing at the most inappropriate moments *lol* And at the end they were all "You should give him your number. See? It's fate, just like in the movie" *lol*
As for the movie, I was so excited about it that, of course, it disappointed me. I liked parts of it. The approach to the story was very original and it had some really funny parts, but there was a moment in the film when I started hating the female character so I didn't enjoy the rest of the movie much. I'd been crashing on Joseph Gordon-Lewitt since I saw Brick, but I didn't like him much in this movie - I didn't like his performance that much either. He wasn't bad, but he wasn't as good as he was in Brick. I liked the end of the movie, though.

* I finished Side effects by Woody Allen. Out of the three Allen books I read, it's the one I enjoyed the most. The stories are not as absurd as in the previous two and they resemble more the style of his movies. Now I really need to watch Whatever works, although I'll probably wait until it's out in DVD.
Now I have to wait for The girl who kicked the hornet's nest by Stieg Larsson to arrive. I ordered it last week, so I hope that I'll have it by the end of this week. And of course I want to see the movies for books #1 & #2 of the series. Although there are so many good movies showing these days that I don't know if I'll get to watch The girl who played with fire in cinemas.

* I caught up with Bones and Californication this weekend. I don't have much to say for either of them, but I'll still use a cut for possible spoilers:
Bones - 5x03 - 5x05 )

Californication - 3x01 - 3x04
I don't have much to say about this show. I love it, but it's kind of always the same. Which is not a bad thing, because the scripts are still amazingly good. This show is all about the dialogue.
Hank Moody owns my soul )

If anyone's written any review for these shows that I have not commented on, please link me to it in the comments. I mean it. I know some people have been reviewing Bones, for instance, but I couldn't read it before because I hate spoilers.

* I've been having health problems lately. Nothing serious, I just have low blood pressure. I'm completely fine one moment and the next I'm dizzy and I feel faint. It happens to me once in a while, especially if I'm really stressed out. For instance, when I finally got my driver's license, it started happening to me and it even ended in an anxiety attack one afternoon. I didn't know why it was happening again, but I think I found out today. I was in the middle of a class and I thought "I need to remember to print the TOEFL receipt" and two minutes later I was feeling crappy. I guess that, even if I'm not really that stressed out about the exam or the whole year abroad thing - in fact, I'm really excited and willing to go like right this second - at an unconscious level I'm feeling anxious about it. Even now, I was feeling fine, and now I'm starting to feel dizzy again. I hope I can get over it and that this doesn't end in another anxiety attack, because those are no fun.

* I'm so obsessed with my fandoms that I cannot even desconnect when I'm sleeping. This week I had two fandom-related dreams (that I remember *lol*)
The other day I dreamt that I was watching a promo for The Big Bang Theory in which Penny and Sheldon sang to each other a song about their undying love and I was thinking "Oh, so they have given in to fandom" and then, Miley Cyrus appeared next to Leonard. And then Leonard wasn't Leonard anymore, but Ted Mosby, architect *lol*
Then, last night, I dreamt that I was watching Merlin. There was something about Morgana being depressed and going to Merlin for help. And then Arthur and Morgana had sex and I was super excited because they were finally together. I was kinda disappointed when I woke up and realized it wasn't true. Although I was probably more disappointed with Miley Cyrus not being in TBBT *lol*

* Happy birthday [info]rogueslayer452 !! I hope you have a wonderful day ^^

* Thanks to all of you for the comments on my previous entries. I'm calmer today. I'll go to the bank on Monday and try to solve the problem.

Rant about college )

* I'm going out with a couple of friends tonight. I honestly don't know how I'm going to stand on my feet all night. I guess I'll have to rely on coffee and energetic drinks *lol*

* I've read Alice in Wonderland. I didn't like it much. I found it pretty boring. I discovered that my favourite parts of the Disney version weren't even on this book, but on its sequel, Through the looking glass and what Alice found there, which I'm currently reading. I should have probably read it in English, because I'm under the impression that the Spanish translation wasn't very good.

* This season of Sons of Anarchy is being as awesome as the previous one. I can't believe so few people know of this show, because it is one of the best things I've ever seen in television.
Spoilers for 2x03 - 2x05 )

* I have no words for the cuteness that was The office 6x04-05. I love this show so much right now <3

I've just been crying out of pure frustration. I've been trying to register online for the TOEFL (the exam I need to pass in order to get the scolarship to spend a year abroad). I already have to go to Portugal to take it because there are no places left anywhere near where I live. The thing is, I need to pay the registration fee with a credit card. They do not accept the credit card of the bank where I have my scolarship, so last week I couldn't register. I went to the bank where I have my other account to deposit the money for the exam. So I arrive home, I try to do the payment, and they tell me that I do not have a right to do online payments. I call the Costumer Service and they tell me that I need to register in a different web page first in order to have access to online transactions. It turns out that I need some information that I do not have, so I went to the bank today and asked for that information. I do the online registration, they tell me everything is fine, I try again to pay for the exam and there's a sign telling me that I need to call a number in order for the bank to activate the thing. I do this, and then I need to do another thing online in order to get a password. Finally, when everything done, I try to pay for the TOEFL and they tell me that my credit card does not work for them. I go to the bank webpage and apparently my student credit card is not a credit card. What the hell is it then, I ask? ¬¬ I have no idea, but now I cannot go to the bank again until Monday, so there goes another week in which I am not f***ing registered. At this rate, I'll lose my seat in the exam u.u

I started my third year at college last week and that's why I haven't been on LJ lately. I decided to be a responsible girl this year, keep my notes up to date and study frequently so as not to be completely stressed out once exams come. The problem is that I have class from Monday to Thursday and I arrive home at 5 p.m. on Mondays and at 7 p.m. the rest of the week and after I arrive I have to study, do homework, do my readings, etc., so I don't have much time to get on the computer. I'm going to try to keep up to date with my f-list's entries, but I might not be on time and I'll probably comment on past entries like four days later *lol* I'll also try to update as much as possible, but right now, college comes first.

I'll update with a "real" entry tomorrow. Right now I just want to have some dinner and watch Supernatural :P

* First of all, happy birthday to[info]xhollywoodgirlx !! I hope you have a wonderful day.

* Yesterday I went to watch Gamer. I thought it was going to be just an action movie without much plot behind, but I went anyway because Gerard Butler is one of my fav. actors. I kind of liked the movie, though. I think that the plot was really interesting, although it was left behind for the sake of action scenes sometimes. I think that if they'd spent more time on the plot and less on blowing things up, it would have been a pretty good movie. Anyway, I enjoyed it while I was watching, but it's one of those movies you forget about on the way home from the cinema. The one thing I really liked about the movie was Michael C. Hall - he was absolutely awesome! That, and the use of "Sweet dreams" at the beginning of the movie.

* I completely forgot to write about the Weeds season finale, but I really don't have much to say, except for WTF. spoilers ahead )

* I finally found 3 Doors Down's CD from 2008. I'm listening to it right now with the speakers at full blast (not really, but they're really really loud :P). I forget how much I love these guys until I start listening to them ♥

* First of all, welcome to my newest friends, [info]kim_tsukina , [info]i_will_dare_89 , [info]cascianca , [info]outonwalkabout[info]sky_angel22 & [info]goonie_freak !

* TODAY IS SUPERNATURAL DAY!!! Well, technically, SPN day is Fridays for me, but whatever, I'M STILL SUPER EXCITED!!!! *squee*

* I watched two movies this week: Love in the time of cholera and Stardust.

I hated Love in the time of cholera so much!! I love the book and I seriously recommend it to anyone who might be reading this, because García Márquez is a genius. The movie is more a parody of the book than an adaptation. It looked like a not-so-good adaptation from the trailers, but I wanted to give it a chance, mainly because of Bardem, but I didn't expect something this bad. The Florentino Ariza from the movie is a very ridiculous character. In fact, none of the characters have any depth. Plus - and this may be just me, but it really bugged me - I can't buy that people whose first language is obviously Spanish spend the whole movie talking in English to each other. This is one of those times when I should have watched the dubbed version, but watching Bardem dubbed would be weird.

Stardust, however, I loved. I had read quite a few bad reviews about it when it came out, and maybe it is because of my low expectations, but I enjoyed every minute of the movie. All the characters were so lovable and adorable and fun. It is a really light movie, which is exactly what I'm in the mood for these days (we're having a really hot weather this week and it's killing me). Now I really want to read the book.

* I finished reading The catcher in the rye today. I bought it because I found it in English on the book store and it was a really cheap version, but I wasn't expecting much from it. Boy, I got hooked from the first page. It's such an unusual book. It's already on my fav. books' list. Now I'm waiting for my cousin to lend me Tre metri sopra il cielo by Federico Moccia. I enjoyed Scusa ma ti ciamo amore, and my cousin's a fan, so she'll lend me this one and its sequel as soon as she finishes it. I've also ordered The girl who played with fire by Stieg Larsson. I hope it arrives soon!

* I've watched season one of Terminator: the Sarah Connor chronicles. I watched the first two Terminator movies this year for the first time and I really liked them, so I was excited for the TV show. It didn't disappoint me. Moreover, I like this Sarah Connor more than the one in the movies. She seems more human to me. I had some problems with Derek at first, but he's grown on me. As for John, I love him - all the expectable teenage angst plus the whole "I've got to lead an army against the machines" weight on his shoulders, what's not to love? *lol* And we have Summer Glau, which is always a plus ♥ I hope that season 2 is just as good as this one, although I've already watched 2x01 and it bored me a little. There was too many action and too little advance on the plot. I'm okay with the action as long as there's a good plot behind it, but action scenes for the sake of it usually bore me.

* I'm probably going to watch Gamer tomorrow, if the wheather cools off a little - there's this really long slope before I get to the cinema and I really don't want to go up there with this heat at 4 o'clock in the afternoon.

I saw this at [info]siscokid98 's journal and I really like the idea, so

The problem with Livejournal is that we all think we are so close, but really, we know nothing about each other. Hence, I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about. Then post this in your LJ and find out what people don't know about you

Ask away! ^_^

The most horrible thing has just happened

My mp4 player is dead. Apparently, I forgot to take it out of my jacket yesterday and it went into the washing machine. I tried to revive it, but not even my computer could do anything for it. My dad took it out into the sun "to see if it dries" or something, but I have no hope. And it was only two years old u.u

Yeah, I know no-one cares about my mp4 player, but I just had to say it, okay? I'm in mourning.

Okay, so I'm a drama queen and my dad is a genius and the little machine is still alive!
