* First of all, belated Happy Birthday to [info]shawnalasex ! I hope you had a blast! ^_^

* I finished reading Wuthering Heights and I loved it, especially the second part of the book, because I didn't care much for Catherine. However, I loved Cathy Jr.'s story. I was rooting for her and Hareton the whole time *lol* I really liked the ending. Now I hope I can find a good movie version that doesn't butcher the story. This week, to give the 19th century a rest, I started Memoirs of a geisha and I'm so hooked! It's such a cruel story! I need to keep reading to see if things look up for Chiyo, because up to now the story is really sad.

* Last Saturday, I watched the movie The Shipping News. I only watched it because Cate Blanchett was on it - and she was on it for like five minutes *lol* I liked it. I can't say that I'm going to remember it in a couple of days, but it was entertaining. What I will remember is Kevin Spacey. I had never cared much for him, but ever after watching Pay it forward this year I thought he was a great actor - and this movie confirmed it.

* As for RL stuff, I've been looking for a job for a couple of months, but the phone just won't ring. I have my fingers crossed. I hope someone gives me a job before the end of the year. If I don't earn some money, there's no way my parents are going to pay for my school year on the USA, so I can forget about going. I really want to go, though. Like I said, fingers crossed.

* Yesterday I was interviewed by a local TV. They were doing an item on "young people looking for a summer job" and they watched me leaving my curriculum on a store and they asked if they could interview me. They showed it today on TV. No-one in my family has said anything about it yet. I hope none of them watched it or I won't hear the end of it.

HIATUS

My finals are around the corner, so I don't have the time to check my f-list or even post anything here. I'll come back around the 16th of June, when I have my last exam. Don't forget about me! :P

* I haven't really liked Alias ever since the beggining of season 3. In fact, I usually fell asleep as soon as I started watching the episodes, because they bored me so much. But I had started and I wanted to finish it. I'm glad I did, because after what happened in 5x08, I am so on board with the show again. You were the one who wanted to cuddle )

* I've also found Gossip girl really boring this season. I liked the first episodes, but then it got dull. What bored me most of all was the Chuck/Blair dynamics. They became so repetitive and uninteresting... until this last episode. ... )

* I refuse to believe what they're trying to sell us in How I met your mother: spoilers )

* The latest episode of Grey's Anatomy was so beautiful and heartbreaking and I don't even have words. If the finale is half as good as this one, I'm sure I'll start crying before it ends.

* I don't even have words for Grey's. Don't expect me to be very coherent about Supernatural. spoilers )

* I'm bonding with my mom over House. One day I was at the living-room watching BSG, she asked if I didn't have "anything normal" on the hard drive, I switched to House because it was the only show dubbed in Spanish I had recorded at the time... and now she's hooked. She asks me if there are any new episodes every weekend and she even spoils me because she reads about what's going to happen on the newspaper. I don't even care about the spoilers. It's the first time in 20 years that my mom enjoys something I'm into, and I plan on enjoying it while it lasts ^_^

* I've started reading Death Note (yeah, after half the world has finished it) and I love it! I'm on book 7 and I am so hooked! My favorite part was the first 4 books, but I still love everything that's happening right now. I guess I'll post a more elaborated opinion about it when I finish it.

* I'm going to the movies tonight. I haven't been to the cinema since Watchmen, I think, so it was about time. I wanted to watch Star Trek, but my father wants to watch the newest Dustin Hoffman movie (whose original title I don't know), so Dustin Hoffman it is! I'll probably go watch Star Trek by myself next week. Has anyone seen it? Do you recommend it for someone who hasn't seen anything from the franchise in her life?

I was about to write a post about how history has the tendency of repeating itself and about how I am thinking about my birthday and starting to be sad again; and then I just thought that I shouldn't complain because I'm so much better than I was last year on this date and I would just be the most ungrateful person if I started complaining. So I guess now I'm focusing on the good things and I am okay again.

Anyway, what I actually wanted to say is that now that exams are over I'll be back on LJ and I want to do things right: I'll stop being the worst LJ friend ever and I'll start posting and looking at your posts again. And for that, I think that I should do a friends cut, because my f-list is becoming huge.

For the lazy people who won't read the whole post:

* New week, new layout. Things are going pretty well for me lately. I even wake up with energy in the mornings (well, the energy comes after coffee, but still *lol*) and for the first time in a pretty long while I'm starting to feel good about myself, so I decided that had to show on my LJ; but changing from black to pink was excesive and I couldn't get accostumed to it. This layout suits my current state better. Besides, it's been a long time since I've put Veronica up there and that's just wrong :P On the next few days, I'll change my profile banner too.

* On Saturday I went to see Appaloosa. It's just what it looks like: a classic western made nowadays. I liked it (and not just because of Viggo Mortensen). The plot is pretty simple and the story moves slowly, but it doesn't get boring, although there are several times when it looks like it's going to end and it keeps going, so I was about to get up and leave on each of those moments *lol* It's not a popcorn movie, but it's still really entertaining. If anyone's thinking of going to the movies and doesn't know what to see, I really recommend it.

* I'm reading Joseph Andrews by Henry Fielding for my Literature class. I've been reading it like for a week and I'm stuck at page 50. Besides, I've already been spoiled for every major part of the plot, so I don't feel like keep reading it at all. 18th-century English Literature is really not my thing...

* Concerning TV shows, I'm really behind on all of them, except for Supernatural. I'll probably write a post of what I think about season four so far in the next few days.

* The cleaning people on my university are on strike. We've been studying among dirt for a week and apparently it's not going to end anytime soon. I was supportive of them until they decided to take it on the teachers and students and throw eggs and horse's excrements to the buildings' doors. We've been told that if things keep going like this, the university will be closed until they work things out.

That's all for today, because I have to get back to reading Joseph Andrews u.u

I don't have the time to translate this right now, so I'll just say that I'm back on LJ and I'll be checking everyone's journals these days. Point me out anything you might want me to read ;)
That and my opinion on Ten Inch Hero, because I've just watched it :P
No high-fives, give me some love )
By the way, that looked like a One Tree Hill meeting: three actors on the movie (two of them on protagonist roles) and Bethany Joy Galeotti on the soundtrack (she sings at least two of the songs).

------------------

I’ve just realized that I still hadn’t written here my thoughts on the new TV season – and I don’t have anything better to do, so…

90210 - I liked it much more than I thought I would. I don't have anything special to say about it yet. It's just the typical high school show. Honestly, the only reason I started watching is because a Ghostfacer was on it (Corbett, if you're wondering *lol*).

Gossip Girl – I like it. It’s okay, nothing out of the ordinary. Still, I liked these episodes much more than the last ones from season one. What I like most is the fact that they aren’t trying to be realistic at all – most of the situations are completely absurd! In my opinion, that’s the best that they could have done for the show. It’s not the most original show in the world, but at least it’s fresh and we can have some laughs watching.

2x02 )

One Tree Hill – I didn’t like it. Before the season started I was obsessed with the show, but as soon as I watched the premiere I stopped caring about it. My opinion hasn’t changed after the second episode. I will probably become obsessed with the show again, because that’s how our relationship goes: I hate it for a few episodes, then I love it, then I hate it again… It’s been like that since the pilot.

6x02 )

Prison Break – I thought I wasn’t going to like it (after the deathly boring Sona season, I wasn’t too excited about the show’s return) and I love it! I think it’s going to be my favourite season.

4x03 )

True Blood – I’ve been an Anna Paquin fan for years, so I couldn’t have been more excited about this show. I am so dissapointed! I didn’t like it at all. There’s too much sex, the characters are too cliched and none of the actors show many acting skills (no, not even my dear Anna u.u). I just hope it gets better. [No list for this one. I seriously didn’t like it at all]

To finish the post, I’m linking you to the Fall Fandom Free-For-All thingie, because I’m sure there has to be someone else out there that hadn’t seen it yet – yep, like me. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, go check it out. You won't regret it ;) (my list is here, by the way)

If you find some really big mistakes on this entry – or something that doesn’t make sense at all - , I’m sorry. I had less than four hours of sleep last night (if you know me, you know how serious that is)

Gossip Girl - Me gusta. 2x02 )

I’m finally up to date with Battlestar Galactica. I have to say that, even when I’ve seen all the episodes, I still don’t like the show that much. I think it’s pretty entertaining, but I don’t think that it’s the show that led American TV to its salvation. I think the main reason I feel that way is because things don’t happen on the show as a consequence of the character’s actions, but because they’re meant to happen like that. I enjoy watching the show anyway and it has its good parts, like the Resurrection Ship arc on season two or the last two season finales. Well, here are my thoughts on the mid-season finale.

spoilers )

I’ve also finished the first season of my newest obsession: Skins. In case you don’t know it, it’s a Brittish show about a group of teenagers who do everything your mom doesn’t want you to do: they do drugs, they have lots of sex and they get themselves in trouble all the time. At first I didn’t like it much, but as I got to know the characters, I started falling in love with it, but specially falling in love with them: that group of poor unhappy teenagers. My favourite is, whitout a doubt, Sid (no, I don’t mind that he doesn’t come near water in the whole season ¬¬). I also love Cassie and I’m rooting for Chris and Jal to get together next season. They are so cute together. The only one I don’t really like is Tony: he’s an awful person and he’s pretty boring too. I mean, if you’re going to be the bad guy, at least be an interesting bad guy. One of the stories that got most to me was Cassie’s,

spoilers )

Change of subject: I've started re-reading my Fruits Basket comic-books. I'll start buying the ones I don't have when college starts again. I hadn't read manga in a while, but I saw them on the bookcase and I just had to start them again. This morning, as I read the second book, I realized that I'm shipping Kyo/Uo. The first one surprised was myself *lol* I know it will never happen, but one can dream. In fact, I wouldn't really want it to happen in canon; if Kyo and Tooru don't end up together, I'll burn my collection *lol*

P.D: Effy me da mal rollo

Cambiando de tema, he vuelto a engancharme a Fruits Basket.

I've wanted to write this entry for a few days, because there's a subject that bugs me more and more every day: trophy wives. It's amazing the number of this kind of women that appear on movies and TV. The worst of all is that their actions try to indicate that being a trophy wife is the most normal thing in the world and no-one should be surprised by their presence. I have to say that, to me, a trophy wife is not only that one that's only there to be pretty and be quiet while the male protagonist does whatever it is he does; but also that kind of woman that leaves her life completely apart whenever the guy calls. Now I'm going to talk about the two examples that have bugged me more lately.

Click to keep reading )

Change of subject: I still haven't seen any episode from the new season, although I've already downloaded OTH, GG and Prison Break. I guess I don't really like them that much. Fortunately, the 18th is around the corner *___*

P.S. I'll probably post some fanart on my next entry, because I have a couple of them I want to show, although maybe I will wait until I finish the Firefly icons batch I'm working on.
Oh, and if you comment, please avoid spoilers from Sex and the City; I've only watched until season three.

Spoilers 3ª temporada )En serio, me supera.

Write three facts, two quirks, and two habits about you, then tag 3 people to do it too.

Fact: I don't like sports. I find them boring.
Fact: I read less and less every year. I always say I'll do something about it, but I don't.
Fact: I want to leave home and live on my own.

Quirk: I can do half a star with my tongue.
Quirk: I can spend a whole week replaying the same song again and again.

Habit: I usually shower in the morning, rarely in the afternoon.
Habit: I bite my nails when I'm nervous.

You know I never tag anyone. Do it if you feel like it ;)
